Alano joined the Teamsters Union when he began working at United Parcel Service as an inside package handler, just months before the historic 1997 UPS strike. During that defining moment in Teamster history, he became a member of Teamsters Local 90 and began what would become a lifelong commitment to union activism. Following the strike, Alano served as a Union Steward at UPS for more than twenty years, representing coworkers, enforcing the collective bargaining agreement, and defending the rights of Teamster members on the shop floor.
Alongside his union work, Alano served in the United States Army from 1997 to 2005. He deployed to Iraq from 2003 to 2004, where he served as a Sergeant. Following his military service, he was honorably discharged as a combat veteran.
After returning from military service, Alano used his GI Bill benefits to pursue higher education at Drake University, where he graduated with distinguished honors while earning both a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
In 2023, Alano was elected Secretary-Treasurer and Principal Officer of Teamsters Local 90 and was reelected in 2026. As Principal Officer, he works with the Local’s officers, stewards, and staff to strengthen contracts, enforce collective bargaining agreements, grow union membership, and ensure that Teamster members have strong representation in the workplace.
Tanner began working at United Parcel Service in 2015 as an inside employee and became a member of Teamsters Local 90 at that time. In 2018, he began working as a full-time package car driver, gaining experience across multiple classifications within the UPS operation and working alongside fellow Teamsters in different parts of the workplace.
In 2020, Tanner became a Union Steward, representing coworkers on the job and helping enforce the collective bargaining agreement. In that role, he worked closely with fellow Teamsters to address workplace issues, defend members’ contractual rights, and ensure that workers had strong representation on the shop floor.
In 2023, Tanner was elected President of Teamsters Local 90 and was reelected in 2026. In addition to his role as President, he serves the membership as a full-time Business Agent, assisting members with grievances, contract enforcement, and workplace representation across the many industries represented by Local 90.
Brad began working at United Parcel Service in 1995 and became a member of Teamsters Local 90 soon after. He was part of the historic 1997 UPS strike, an experience that reinforced the importance of solidarity and collective action in improving wages, benefits, and working conditions for working people.
Brad became a full-time employee at UPS in 2005 and has served as a Union Steward since 2010, a role he continues to hold today while working full-time inside the facility. In that capacity, he represents coworkers on the shop floor, helps enforce the collective bargaining agreement, and works to ensure that Teamster members have a strong voice in the workplace.
In 2023, Brad was elected Vice President of Teamsters Local 90 and was reelected in 2026. He also serves as an Assistant Business Agent for the Local Union, assisting members with grievances, contract enforcement, and workplace representation across the many industries represented by Local 90.
Outside of his union work, Brad enjoys attending live music, kayaking, and spending time with his children and granddaughter.
Jody began working at United Parcel Service in 1988 and has been a member of Teamsters Local 90 throughout his career. In 1997, he became a full-time package car driver and has spent decades working alongside fellow Teamsters delivering packages throughout the Des Moines area.
Jody currently serves as a Union Steward representing the East Center package car drivers in Des Moines. In that role, he helps enforce the collective bargaining agreement, represents coworkers in workplace matters, and works to ensure that members’ rights under the contract are protected.
In December 2018, Jody was elected to the Executive Board of Teamsters Local 90 as a Trustee. He has since been reelected several times and continues to serve in that role today, helping provide oversight and accountability for the Local Union on behalf of its membership.
Scott has been a member of Teamsters Local 90 since 1990. Over the course of his career, he has worked in Teamster-represented workplaces across multiple industries, including previously working at the Local’s Pepsi bargaining unit before continuing his career at Vestis (formerly Aramark Uniform Services).
Scott currently works full-time at Vestis, where he has served for several years as the Shop Steward representing his coworkers. In that role, he helps represent members on the job, enforce the collective bargaining agreement, and ensure that workers’ rights under the contract are protected. Scott has also served on the bargaining committee during contract negotiations at his shop, helping secure an industry-leading collective bargaining agreement with the employer.
In 2023, Scott was elected to the Executive Board of Teamsters Local 90 as a Trustee and was reelected in 2026. As a Trustee, he helps provide oversight and accountability for the Local Union while continuing his work advocating for Teamster members in the workplace.
Joel began working at United Parcel Service in 1993 and has been a member of Teamsters Local 90 throughout his career. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in a variety of positions at UPS, including more than a decade working as a full-time package car driver. Joel currently works as a package handler at the UPS air operation in Des Moines.
Joel has served as a Union Steward for many years, representing coworkers and helping enforce the collective bargaining agreement. In that role, he works closely with fellow Teamsters to address workplace concerns, defend members’ rights under the contract, and ensure that workers have strong representation on the job.
In 2023, Joel was elected to the Executive Board of Teamsters Local 90 as a Trustee and was reelected in 2026. As a member of the Executive Board, he helps provide oversight and accountability for the Local Union while continuing his longstanding commitment to representing and advocating for Teamster members.
Jen began working at United Parcel Service in 1992 and has been a member of Teamsters Local 90 throughout her career. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of positions inside UPS as well as serving as an Air Driver, giving her a broad understanding of the workplace and the issues faced by Teamster members.
In 2023, Jen was elected Recording Secretary of Teamsters Local 90 and was reelected to that position in 2026. In this role, she helps maintain the official records of the Local Union and supports the work of the Executive Board in carrying out the business of the membership.
Jen also serves the Local Union as a part-time staff member working as a Member Benefits Specialist and administrative support staff. In that role, she assists members with questions and issues related to health insurance, retirement benefits, and other member services, helping connect members with the information and resources they need.
Kim joined Teamsters Local 90 in March 2023 as the Local Union’s Front Office Manager and Bookkeeper. In this role, she manages the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of the Local Union while serving as the primary point of contact for members who call or visit the office.
Kim was hired for the specialized skills needed to support the Local’s front office and financial operations. She brings extensive experience in bookkeeping, payroll administration, database management, and office operations. Kim works with the Local’s financial systems, including QuickBooks and the Teamsters TITAN system, and assists with payroll processing, dues administration, and employer billing. Her work helps ensure that membership records, financial reporting, and office functions run smoothly in support of the Local’s members and leadership.
Kim grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, and moved to the Des Moines area from Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 2021 with her husband and their two dogs.
